Anyway, with all eyes on Treasure Island Music Fest, it’s easy to forget that there’s tons of awesome stuff going on this weekend. There’s Litquake, first and foremost, which we’ve already previewed here, in addition to some other events we’ve stumbled upon. Here are our top picks:

If you want to Mad Men it up in style, don’t miss out on the WhiskyFest this Friday at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis. Brought to you by The Whisky Advocate, the $135 ticket gets you a gift bag of commemorative items, in addition to the opportunity to sample 250 whiskies, dine from a gourmet buffet, and attend whiskey seminars.

This week, we published an interview with Lee MacDougall on the blog. In conjunction with the post, eventseekr is also giving away a total of five pairs of tickets to see Lee MacDougall perform live at the Cedar Street Courtyard in Austin, Texas, August 26, 2011. To win a pair of tickets, all you have to do is tell us why you want to go by making a post on the eventseekr Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/eventseekr) or by replying to us (@eventseekr) on Twitter with the hashtag #MACeventseekr (http://www.twitter.com/eventseekr). The contest begins Thursday, August 4th, 2011 at 12pm PST, and runs through Monday, August 22nd, 2011 until 12pm PST. Wednesday, August 24th, 2011 until 12pm PST. The winners of the contest for the five pairs of tickets will be notified on August 22nd by 3pm PST. August 24th by 3pm PST.

The show itself is a 21+ event, so contest participants must be of the age of 21 or older.

All you have to do is make a post on the eventseekr Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/eventseekr) or reply to us (@eventseekr) on Twitter with the hashtag #HBSBeventseekr (http://www.twitter.com/eventseekr), and tell us why you think you deserve to go to the show. The contest begins Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11am, and runs through Friday, July 8, 2011 until 12pm. The winner of the contest for the pair of tickets will be notified also on July 12^th by 3pm. There will be no physical tickets given to the winner to the show. Rather, the winner will gain entry into the venue through a guest list at the door on the night of the show.

The show itself is an all-ages show, but participants in this contest must be 18 years of age or older or have their parent’s permission to attend. If the winner is in fact under the age of 18, eventseekr requires the parent or guardian of the winning participant to verify the child’s age and consent to the contest and admittance to the show through an email to eventseekr@wcities.com.
